I came across this great photograher on ETSY, David Langley. He was an commercial photographer and is now doing "picture taking" - I think that means he is taking pictures for enjoyment! What I like, in addition to David's photographs, are some of the stories he shares within the descriptions. I think this is a rarity when you see a photograph. I know a picture tells a thousand stories and not everyone will share my same thoughts on this, but I really enjoy the real, behind the scene details. ...Two more cameras have finally come in! The pictures have been developed and so I have decided not to wait for the other cameras, I am going to start posting some of the pictures online - so look for them soon!

CAMERA 6 came in the mail and the pictures have been developed - Woo Hoo! To the left is a glimpse of the one the pics - I am not sure of the artist who created the art that the picture was taken of though, if anyone knows, post a comment here since I am not sure where the pics
where taken.

Every Friday, I will send out a theme and you will need to take a picture with your CELL PHONE around that theme - sounds easy right???
See how well you can stay with the theme!

I will then send the theme to that address each week and you will send me a CELL PHONE PHOTO.

To get started, this weeks theme is "PETS" easy enough right??

Hello - thanks for those who signed up to follow my blog - we now have 8 at the time of this post - only 92 more to go!

In the meantime, to see more great photographs go to the Sotheby's auction house website - there is a new Photograph auction catalog to view (292 pages) now available in PDF format. I would post it here, but I requested permission first and waiting to hear back from them. In case you are going to be in Paris or already live there, the auction is in on November 20th at 4:00pm. If you do participate in the auction and have the winning bid, you absolutely have to post the details here!!!

the main project going on now...

Hi everyone, a few details about the project that started it all. I sent out 7 cameras to 7 people - these people are the camera captains. Each captain will take 5 pictures and then pass the camera on to a new person who will then take 5 pictures and pass the camera on to another person. The 5th person for each camera will send the camera back to me and I will post the pictures here. woo hoo!

I can't wait to see what people came up with as there was no theme - not this time anyways! Once the pictures have been uploaded, we will have some fun voting for prizes, individual prizes as well as camera teams!

It will be interesting right? Over 175 pictures should be loaded - provided they turn out!!
the cameras were sent out locally as well as internationally - hopefully it won't take too long before all the cameras come back.

I have heard from a few people, but not all, so if you have camera - make sure you post a comment here so we know who/what/where...

**Update on my 365 project - it hasn't started. I decided to do another project with resin, which I will be posting soon! yay!

Should I take on another project? The 365 project - 365 pictures - 1 a day? I guess I could do that - I usually do take a picture everyday anyways - why not? Whats the worse that could happen - I publish a post saying "sorry - didn't make it!"? I created my playlist below (and what is playing at the moment) by adding a few select songs I like. But, then I got to thinking, since this site is mostly about photo projects, I did a mini-photo project - sort of. I added more songs - a whole lot more - of songs that contain the word "photograph" in the title. So, scroll down and check them out. Some I like and some are OK - there were a lot to choose from, but I chose an eclectic group from all types of music. While scrolling through the list, I realized that many are very depressing! Ugh! Oh, well here they are.

Moving Along

Hi everyone, the project has been moving along. I received the certificates and now I am prepping the cameras before they are sent out in the photo packages. They should ready to be sent out tomorrow or Friday!

I know I haven't said much as to what the project is - I am waiting for some people to receive the package where all the details are at and then let it go from there. In the meantime, I am working on this site and trying to figure out the issues - had a few with Flickr but I think I am OK for now where it's at.

I am also working on adding advertisements to this site - I know some people think UGH!, but I think they can be a really good thing - in moderation - I would like to get to the point where the only advertisers are ones that I hand picked. If I choose them it's because I think they are worth looking at or working with.

there was an idea - not my idea, but an idea. An idea for a project. Not a boring, "I have to get this project done" kind of thing - but a fun project where others can particiapte in. I decided to run with this other person's idea and put a few more bells and whistles to it. I am still working out the kinks, but the main concept is there and this blog is the beginning.
